'The heart-healthy benefits of the so-called Mediterranean diet are well known, but new research from a Greek study suggest that adherence to the diet can have a more protective effect on heart disease risk than taking part in physical activity -- showing that adults who closely followed the diet were 47% less likely to develop heart disease over a 10-year period compared to similar adults who did not closely follow the diet.'
